1. Titolare del trattamento

Nicolò Iacobone, Bari (Italia) — email: nicolo.iacobone@gmail.com.

2. Cookie e archiviazione locale

  • Base giuridica: misure precontrattuali adottate su tua richiesta (art. 6, par.

7. I tuoi diritti

Puoi esercitare in ogni momento i diritti previsti dagli artt.

Privacy & cookies

Privacy and cookie policy

In short: this website uses no cookies, does not track visitors and contains no analytics, advertising or embedded third-party content.

Last updated: 27 October 2026

This notice is provided under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”), Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 (the “Privacy Code”) as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018, and the Italian Data Protection Authority’s Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools of 10 June 2021. It applies only to the website www.nicoloiacobone.it. The Italian version prevails in case of discrepancies.

1. Data controller

Nicolò Iacobone, Bari (Italy) — email: nicolo.iacobone@gmail.com.

2. Cookies and local storage

This website sets no cookies, neither first-party nor third-party, and uses no profiling, analytics or marketing tools. That is why no consent banner is shown.

To remember two preferences you choose yourself, the website stores the following technical information in your browser’s localStorage:

KeyValuePurposeDuration
themelight or darkRemember the light/dark theme you choseUntil you delete it
langit or enRemember the language you choseUntil you delete it

This information stays on your device, is never sent to me or to anyone else and cannot identify you. It is written only when you use the theme or language buttons. As it is strictly necessary to provide a feature you explicitly requested, no consent is required (Art. 122 Italian Privacy Code; Art. 5(3) Directive 2002/58/EC). You can delete it at any time from your browser settings (“Clear site data”).

3. Camera (Rubik’s cube page)

The Rubik’s cube page can use your device’s camera to recognise the faces of the cube. The camera only turns on after you press “Start the camera” and grant the permission requested by your browser, which you can revoke at any time from its settings. It turns off when you leave the page or switch to manual move confirmation.

Images are processed only in your browser, one frame at a time: they are not sent to me or to anyone else, are not stored and never leave your device, so I receive and can see no image at all. The libraries used by the page (OpenCV.js and cubejs) are served by the website itself, with no requests to third parties.

4. Browsing data and hosting

The website is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc. (88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Like any web server, GitHub receives the technical data of each request in order to deliver the pages (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser user agent) and, according to its own documentation, logs visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes.

  • Purpose: delivering the pages, security and integrity of the service.
  • Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the website available and secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • Role and retention: I have no access to these logs; GitHub processes and retains them under its own Privacy Statement.
  • Transfers outside the EU: data may be processed in the United States. The transfer relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or the standard contractual clauses adopted by GitHub (Articles 45 and 46 GDPR).

The website uses no other external services: fonts, images, scripts (including the libraries of the Rubik’s cube page) and the travel map are all served by the website itself, with no requests to third parties.

5. Data you send me voluntarily

If you email or call me using the contact details on the website, I process the data you provide (name, email address, phone number and message content) solely to reply and, where relevant, to follow up on your request, such as an interview or a collaboration.

  • Legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) or, otherwise, legitimate interest in replying to messages received (Art. 6(1)(f)).
  • Retention: as long as needed to handle the conversation and no longer than 24 months after the last contact, unless you ask for earlier deletion.
  • Tools: email is handled through Gmail (Google Ireland Limited), which acts under its own privacy policy.

Your data is not shared with third parties or used for marketing.

6. External links

The website contains plain links to third-party services (for example GitHub, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Google Drive, RoyaleAPI, Clash Royale). No data is sent to these services unless you click them. Once you follow a link you leave this website, and the privacy and cookie policies of the respective providers apply; I am not responsible for them.

7. Your rights

You may exercise the rights set out in Articles 15–22 GDPR at any time: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to processing based on legitimate interest. Just write to nicolo.iacobone@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.

The website makes no automated decisions and performs no profiling.

8. Changes

This notice may be updated, for example if the website starts using new services. The date of the latest update is shown at the top of the page.
